No, it really, really isn't. I don't have anyone in my life that treats me that poorly. I wouldn't be in their life for very long. If someone wants to get hold of me they know full well that if they send me a text, or call me and I don't pick up, that alert will be on my phone next time I check it, there's no need to call again, or text again (unless it's with fresh info), if someone called me more than a couple times I would wonder what the hell was going on in their minds that they felt it was necessary.

Last night was really nice.. he had invited me to join his friends' party after my family dinner. I had a good time. He was attentive to me but we weren't all clingy with each other either, which I feel comfortable with. I'm an independent and very social person, and felt confident enough to mingle with people I've never met before while he's there but not 100% attached at my hip. It's still new so we're not all over each other but definitely engaged. Always different around a crowd...all the other couples were all over each other and he and I were close and only playfully affectionate but kept at a slight distance. I guess that's to be expected this early on. Then again, I'm not sure if I'm ready for that or he is, or what he wants from this, and what I want yet.

I asked him a couple weeks later to go to the bar with me and some friends so he could meet them and again he says no, because he a) doesn't like the bar and b) doesn't want to go if he can't drink. This really upset me, because when we first began hanging out, this exact bar is where we would always meetup with our groups of friends. Also, he rarely drank during those occasions!
