The opposite of love is not hate, it is indifference. Immerse yourself in your career or something else that does not involve having to have a romantic relationship. Being single at your age is really not that bad of a thing. Christ, I'm in my fifties now and date casually and am having the time of my life because I don't expect too much out of anyone. So around September last year was when this started. A girl from my class who I don't really talk to suddenly started initiating conversations with me. For example, she'd compliment my part in a presentation and she'd say hi every time I see her (she would only say Hi to me, and ignore the other people i'm with).
